Since its launch back in 1948, the NHS has steadily grown into the world's biggest publicly funded health service. It is also one of the most comprehensive, most egalitarian, and most efficient. NHS Prescription Services was previously known as the Prescription Pricing Division, and as the Prescription Pricing Authority. Now it is known as the National Health Service, offers the world’s best free national health provision, and is the jewel in the state’s crown. The citizens of the UK should be proud of it.
